Napalm
2004
Print on Paper

One of Banksy’s most unsettling works, Napalm reimagines the harrowing Vietnam War photograph of Phan Thi Kim Phuc, the young girl fleeing a napalm attack. In Banksy’s version, she is flanked by Ronald McDonald and Mickey Mouse, both cheerfully leading her forward.
The contrast between the child’s agony and the grinning corporate mascots delivers a brutal critique of Western consumerism and its ability to trivialise or overshadow human suffering. By fusing one of history’s most haunting war images with symbols of global entertainment, Banksy confronts viewers with the disturbing intersection of violence, propaganda, and commercial culture.
Produced in signed and unsigned editions by Pictures on Walls, Napalm remains one of Banksy’s most provocative and sought-after prints.
