Meat Truck
2013
Print on Canvas

Meat Truck is based on Banksy’s 2013 installation Sirens of the Lambs, first presented on the streets of New York. The work featured a delivery truck crammed with squeaking, animatronic soft-toy animals peering out from the slats, a haunting parody of livestock transport.
The installation offered a biting critique of industrial farming and the meat industry. By replacing real animals with toys, Banksy underscored the innocence of the victims and heightened the absurdity of their plight. The work draws attention to the cruelty of factory farming, the commodification of life, and, more broadly, the systems that normalise such practices in the name of consumption.
