First unveiled in New York during Banksy’s Better Out Than In residency (2013), this installation places the Grim Reaper inside a working bumper car, endlessly circling to the tune of (Don’t Fear) The Reaper. With dark humour, Banksy transforms a funfair ride into a meditation on mortality and the futility of distraction.

The piece reappeared at Dismaland in Weston-super-Mare in 2015, where it became one of the park’s most memorable attractions, perfectly embodying the project’s theme of “a family theme park unsuitable for children.”
