Blur collaborated with Banksy for the cover of their seventh studio album Think Tank, marking one of the artist’s most high-profile commercial projects. The striking design depicts a couple in an underwater embrace, stencilled in Banksy’s raw yet emotive style. Weightless in a sea of negative space, the figures convey both intimacy and isolation a fitting reflection of the album’s themes of political unrest, personal turmoil, and fractured relationships.

Though the project brought his work to a wider audience, Banksy later expressed regret over the tie-in, remarking: “I’ve done a few things to pay the bills, but I didn’t like the Blur album cover, it didn’t feel like the right thing to do.” Despite his reservations, the artwork has since become iconic a moment when underground street art collided with mainstream music culture, cementing the visual identity of Think Tank as both political and deeply personal.
