Original Shoes

This rare pair of Puma “Clyde” trainers holds a unique place in the story of Banksy’s early exhibitions. Personally worn by the artist, they are both fashion items and tangible artefacts of his subversive world.

Released in 2003 in extremely limited numbers, the sneakers were part of an exclusive collaboration between Banksy and Puma for his Turf War exhibition, held in an abandoned East London warehouse from 18–21 July. Given only to VIP guests and close collaborators, they were never available to the public, adding to their rarity.

Embroidered with “Turf War” on the heels and discreetly stitched with Banksy’s name inside, the trainers directly reference his first major solo show — infamous for its live painted animals, provocative political imagery and groundbreaking stencils. Blending streetwear and street art, the Puma Clydes embody the rebellious spirit of early 2000s counterculture and remain a coveted collector’s item linked to one of the most influential artists of our time.
