Soup Can (Quad)
2005

Screen rint on Paper

In this witty reimagining of Andy Warhol’s pop art classic, Banksy replaces the iconic Campbell’s soup with a Tesco Value can a symbol of low-cost consumerism. Repeating the image four times but offering only one flavour, he highlights the illusion of choice within modern capitalism. The work is a sharp critique of the corporate greed and social inequality born from the very consumer culture Warhol once celebrated.
